EP: 5 Sitting with Kambo

Listen Later

I recently participated in my first Kambo ceremony. Kambo is a healing ritual used mainly in South America. It’s named after the poisonous secretions of the giant monkey frog, or Phyllomedusa bicolor.

The frog secretes the substance as a defense mechanism to kill or subdue animals that try to eat it. Some humans, on the other hand, apply the substance to their body for its health benefits. The list of things Kambo benefits is long. Physical, emotional, spiritual healing!

Indigenous people have used kambo for centuries to heal and cleanse the body by strengthening its natural defenses. It was also believed to increase stamina and hunting skills.

These days shamans and naturopathic practitioners still use it for cleansing the body of toxins, as well as treating numerous health conditions.

In ceremony, I set an intention for the Kambo. I had two: one I will not share at this time and the other was for sexual healing from things that have happened to me.

Kambo can help with a range of conditions, including:

  • addiction
  • Alzheimer’s disease
  • anxiety
  • cancer
  • chronic pain
  • depression
  • diabetes
  • hepatitis
  • HIV and AIDS
  • infections
  • infertility
  • rheumatism
  • vascular conditions

This is an Instagram live I did because so many people where asking me about it!
