Dark Star Orchestra

Episode 525 of Concert Pipeline featuring Dark Star Orchestra, in which we chat with keyboardist/vocalist Rob Borraco about the band’s upcoming two nights at Greek Theatre in Berkeley (7/31/26 and 8/1/26) to tribute Bob Weir, and celebrate Jerry Garcia’s birthday by recreating the Grateful Dead’s August 1, 1973 Roosevelt Stadium show in full.  We also talk through the importance of improvisation with the Grateful Dead’s music, emulating the music of Keith Godchaux and when he got to meet Keith, how he has noticed the audience changing over the decades of DSO, and how they are able to keep the music alive and evolving.
