Los Angeles in the 1940s was a bustling metropolis with new comers visiting the city each day. Although it was not as grand as places like New York or San Francisco during the time, LA was still a hotbed of activity for young actors and actress starting out. Although California was a place of hopes and dreams, Los Angeles witness arguably the most famous murder in history during the 1940s. The body of  Elizabeth Short was found on the morning of January 15th, 1947 in a park in downtown LA. Her face had been carved in the form of a permanent smile, her blood drained, and the most horrifying part…her body was cut in half.
