When she was only 15 years old Meriame became quite ill and had to miss a full year of school. Many people were ready to give up on her and tell her that she wouldn't be able to go to college. But she refused to listen to them and worked hard to pursue her dream.
Her advice for women wanting to pursue education or jobs in STEM is to surround yourself with positive people who support you.
Some of the things Meriame does NOT do include watching TV and taking holidays although she admits to wanting to change that!
