The lens through which you see the world shapes who you are; it shapes your identity. I want to tell you a very personal story that I’ve kept very close for quite a while now. My journey over the last five years has been the hardest period of my life. Having to let go of the demons of my past that haunted me, look in the mirror, and face the truth of who I was as a man... or lack thereof. Through the darkness came light. Courage. Hope. Love. The biggest shift in my thinking was the story that I was telling myself about what religion was and what it represented... and I'm sharing that with you today.
