Show Topic (Game Highlight, News Highlight, Discussion topic) Topic: The history of game remakes Remaster: same assets, improved resolution and mechanics. (example is GTA: The Trilogy) Remake: re-built from the ground up, same story and game elements. (Example Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl (Nov 19th)) Super Mario All-Stars Alien Syndrome Link’s Awakening Advance Wars and Advance Wars 2 Blaster Master - BM Zero Star Fox 64 3D Star Fox (reboot or remake?) Final Fantasy 7 Remake A Boy and His Blob Bionic Commando -Fire emblem: New mystery of the emblem (remake and sequel) -so many on the GBA: Super mario advance series, Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland,, Metroid Zero Mission the Well-Red Mage — NES Maniac Mansion, rehauled for NES, heavily censored, dialogue changed, humor changed, accompanied by music for the first time, very different from the preceding versions Fight Crab Fanatic — Does anyone remember Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes for GC? It was loved by critics, but completely forgotten. The Resident Evil remake got more love. ChrisHL94 🇨🇦 — Unless you count the Ocarina of Time remastered and the Master Quest on 3DS I don’t really have one. Andross — Oh wait I changed my mind my favorite is definitely Pokemon Heart Gold Soul Silver Adr0ck — Has Zero Mission been mentioned yet? Because that game is doooope. Eric Plunk — Ninja Gaiden Trilogy Flightsy — Kirby's Dream Land (KDL) hasn't ever been officially remade, but it's been reimagined a few times. In Kirby's Adventure, the final level before the final boss is an homage to KDL. In Kirby Super Star, the first game mode spring breeze is also an homage to KDL. Both Kirby's Adventure and Kirby Super Star got their own remakes: Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land and Kirby Super Star Ultra respectively. Ultra even adds Revenge of the King, which reimagines Kirby's Dream Land's Extra Game (Basically hard mode). Finally, Kirby's Blowout Blast is a reimagining of KDL in 3D. SpiderShan — @the Well-Red Mage stole my Maniac Mansion answer which I was just talking about yesterday on the Nintendo Pals discord lol. Another fairly early one was the Gameboy versions of Dragon Warrior 1, 2, and 3. GalaxyWolf — So this isn’t an “early” remake, but Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are some of my favorite games in the series, and I think they get a lot of unwarranted hate for not being completely identical to the original GBA games. Community Couch Questions Fight Crab Fanatic Couch Question: Which game series has more exhilarating levels/stages? A) Sonic the Hedgehog B) Bonk's Adventure C) Crash Bandicoot D) Super Mario Brothers TrashTurkey Question for the Couch: What games do you think will be on sale for Black Friday? Which ones are you picking up? I think Tony Hawk 1&2 remaster might be cheap and would like to add that to the collection. Thanks again. Flightsy — Today at 3:24 PM Question for the couch: If you had a crystal ball that could see into parallel universes, what would you use it for. This doesn't have to be related to gaming, btw.
