To become a project under the Apache Software Foundation, it’s not enough to serve a global user base and offer unique capabilities. Every Apache Top-Level Project also has broad community support and has been through an incubation period, during which time its committers received guidance and mentorship from the existing Apache community.

In Episode 6 of The New Builders, we continue our coverage of Apache: Big Data and ApacheCon (listen to Part 1 here), through interviews with just a small slice of themore than 5,400 committers to Apache projects, all at various points in their development, including Mike Percy and Dan Burkert from Apache Kudu (3:52), Shawn McKinney and Lucas Theisen from Apache Directory (26:01), and Anshum Gupta from Apache Lucene and Apache Solr (40:47).
