Mind drama: our brain’s way of protecting us from taking risks.
The problem is, it stops us from taking action. Getting things done. Being the best versions of ourselves.
Building our brands.
Business decision mind drama comes up in all sorts of situations. For all sorts of reasons.
But I’ve discovered that for my clients, it’s the number one reason they haven’t made as much progress as they’d hoped and planned.
Mind drama keeps us stuck in the same place, unable to move on from where we’ve been to where we want to go. It makes us want to pull the covers over our head and go back to bed.
It rears its head nearly every time we have to make a decision. It shows up in thoughts like “I don’t know,” or “I’m not sure which is the better option.” Those thoughts then make us frustrated or afraid of making the wrong choice.
So, we do nothing. We buffer. We avoid having to make the choice at all.
Sometimes we avoid starting our business at all. Or telling people about it. Or making offers for people to work with us.
Bottom line? We let our mind drama control us. Which means we’re not making the impact we’re meant to make on the world. We’re not helping the people who need us. We’re not serving them.
We need to be able to recognize when we’re not taking action because of mind drama so we can fend it off and get to work. Otherwise, we’ll never accomplish what we set out to do.
It’s that simple.
