Josh “Marine” Vera was raised as he states in a crack house with out the crack.His house had no heat, no AC, when it rained cause of holes in the roof of his house he had to go to school with wet clothes.He found safety in sports and in the Marine Corps.After serving in the Marines, he discovered his love for jiu jitsu.“Marine” as he would come to be known was also accepted into Stanford’s PA Program. “Marine” earned his black belt in jiu jitsu from Chris Coldiron but not before suffering  a stroke while training in the sport that he loves.He has recovered from his stroke and continues to teach jiu jitsu. He has an amazing and an even better story as he sits down with us to tell us all how he got here.
