“I came from nowhere and I practically have nothing to brag about,” she once said in an interview. This high school graduate was a factory worker in Bulacan whose life and luck changed dramatically one day when she was scouted in a panciteria by a fashion designer, makeup artist, and film director. She skipped college to make a living as a model to support her family in Pampanga, and in just a few years found herself modeling in Paris.
