Let's Agree to Disagree on This (Pt. 1)
This episode is full, and if you’ve been having the male–female “agree to disagree” conversation, whether in your own head or with someone you saw online or actually in real life, this is a layered discussion.
I bring it up because I’m currently reading Notes on Being a Man by Scott Galloway. From the title, you might expect a self-development or philosophical book, but to me it reads more like a memoir or autobiography. Whether I liked it or not isn’t the point. What matters is that it got me thinking, and that’s what stayed with me.
The book looks at what many men are experiencing today through a lens that says, “It’s not your fault, but the world changed and no one gave you the software update, so here’s a book that might help.”
In this episode, I focus less on reviewing the book and more on the thoughts it stirred up for me, breaking down some of the dynamics that got us here. The situation isn’t solely the fault of men or women. It’s a shared responsibility to move things forward in a healthier direction.
Because the future we create depends on all of us, so we gotta these kids come behind us ready to either undo or sharpen what we’ve unconsciously evolved to.
