The Survivor’s Guide To Thriving

Ep. 67: Digging Into Shame | A Conversation with Mark Jewell

Listen Later

If there's one element holding many people back from breaking out of survival mode, it's shame. Shame – or a fear of disconnection because there's something about us that we believe to be bad or wrong – keeps us from experiencing what we most want and, ironically, from creating genuine connections with others.

In this episode, Mark and Amanda dig into the topic shame and share thoughts on:

  • The energy and outcomes associated with shame, based on a variety of research
  • Common shame triggers, and how they may vary among different groups of people
  • Some of the steps we've taken to work through our own experience with shame

And more!
