Marco Torres is the Founder of MarketingBoost.com. He has helped thousands of business owners worldwide boost sales and scale their businesses by as much as 5-fold through the use of incentive-based marketing.

He teaches entrepreneurs how to soar sales & marketing through the use of “Value-Add-Incentives” instead of discounts. Marco’s Facebook Group is home to more than 27,000 active business owners who are raking in sales with his advice and amazingly affordable subscription program.

Marco has been an entrepreneur since age 9 when he started his first business as a paperboy. By the age of 12, he had the biggest paper route in San Juan Puerto Rico where he grew up and was featured on the front page of the newspaper for his accomplishment.

He and his partners grew the fastest growing travel company in North America from 2010 to 2020 with Bookvip.com. One of the early challenges for bookvip was the need for reviews and video testimonials so they created their own travel incentives to reward travellers to film a selfie video from the resort’s pool, beach, or other backdrop and publish them bragging about Bookvip and the resort they were staying at. This turned out to be hugely successful and before long they were leveraging tens of thousands of video testimonials on their website and reaching sales of 250 million with over 1 million travellers to date.

Following on from last week’s episode where we talked about autonomy and in particular the importance of freedom I wanted to invite Marco to talk about another aspect of autonomy - overcoming victim mentality. Marco has a fantastic relationship with this theme - having navigated all kinds of ups and downs both commercially and personally, he has faced down his ‘inner victim’ and bounced back with aplomb. He has a great sense of humour about the predicaments we can all get into, and uses that to good effect to keep himself and others mobile and flowing through life. Very successfully. A man to learn from!
