I once tried boiled okra when I was a kid. I hated it, LOL. It was slimy and gross.
As a kid, I grew up in the State of Florida, so as a southerner, at the time I didn't know, that was NOT the way to prepare okra.
Later in time as a kid, I was eating at a buffet and I saw what looked like, fried okra on the buffet. I was intrigued for sure.
So, I tried it.
My life changed in that moment.
I realized... oh my gosh, this is the way okra is supposed to be prepared!
I now LOVED okra of course, after this life altering moment, lol, and I still do.
You see...you may be doing something in life and it's not working. And, it may not necessarily be the "thing" you are doing that's causing you to not experience the level of success you're looking for...it just may be the way you're doing it.
Have you tried doing the same thing, but just doing it differently?
When we launched this podcast, we first started with a single camera angle while filming. Someone from our church said to me one day, that we should try getting more camera angles in the video shoot.
How was I going to do this however, with only shooting with one camera?
The answer was simple actually.
I configured OBS (which we use as part of our set up), with 2 additional "scenes" that act as camera angles. I merely switch between the 3 angles that I now have set up in OBS and it gives the feel that we have 3 camera angles.
I also moved our set to a corner spot and added some props in the background, with a little boca (blur) in the background as well.
Same podcast, same 2 people hosting...but now we had an ENTIRELY new feel to our videos.
They are cleaner, crisper, and more engaging.I also changed our subscribe pop-up and gave that a different look.
Just a few subtle changes, that cost no extra money, but it's like we have a brand new podcast now.
What's the lesson here? Consider the possibility that it's not what you're doing that needs to change, but just maybe the way you're doing it.
Lots of love for you fam!
