Working For A Dream

Listen Later

Everything a person owns is a privilege that some don’t get to experience in their lifetime. Clean water, a hot meal, clean clothes, indoor plumbing, transportation, etc . These are all examples of things that are not promised to people in life, but for some are a luxury. Today you will learn the meaning of Gratitude and the meaning behind being humble.

Craig Severtson is the CEO and Founder of a Non- Profit Organization Helping Kids Round First which provides Baseball Equipment and other Resources such as Food, Clothing, Medical Supplies, etc to the Children and Families living in Poverty in Nicaragua. Criag is a Serial Entrepreneur where he works as a farmer and a rancher in South Dakota.

Craig addresses the poverty in Nicaragua and how after a visit in the 70’s shifted his mindset to pour into the community starting with Baseball. Patrick and Craig speak about the gratitude the people of Nicaragua have by utilizing the smallest thing that may seem like not much to us but the most to them. Craig talks about the championship and the determination the athletes carried to beat out other countries and MLB Affiliate teams in Baseball and the adversity they came across dealing with limitations of visas for the coaches which left them with an assistant coach and two Female Volunteers who had no prior experience of Baseball that turned them from Underdogs to Champions.

Favorite Quote:

“It was the best but it wasn’t enough. That's what happened. If you don’t have enough to eat, baseball’s just not good enough. Baseball is good enough if you have enough to eat, a good home, medical care, all of those things in life that we take for granted. ”

How to Get Involved:

Patrick Bolanos is a serial entrepreneur, business owner, and CEO of Trailer King Builders in Houston, Texas.

He was raised in Nicaragua, exposed to extreme poverty, and also had the fortune of being exposed to life in the United States traveling back and forth to both countries.

After college, Patrick’s career took him into the corporate world of banking where he learned the important lessons of understanding what you’re selling and why it’s important to believe in it.

Back in December of 2017, Patrick was fired from his job as a CFO for a Restaurant Group.  With only $500 to his name, rent due, his wife, 3 children at home, and one on the way, he was forced to figure out how to pull his family out of this financial abyss that was strangling his life.

With no knowledge of how to build a trailer, Patrick simply figured all of it out and has now built it into the thriving empire of what’s now become Trailer King Builders.

This show highlights the failures, successes, lessons, and insights from Patrick and his guests. Bring your notepads and pens. You’re in for a real-life education.
