We often talk about shadow as something dark - anger, jealousy, shame, the parts of us that feel too messy or socially unacceptable to show.
But there is also another kind of shadow that rarely gets the same attention, and that’s the qualities we admire in others to the point of putting them on pedestal, secretly envying them, or feeling like we’re somehow not quite enough to ever become that.
In this episode I’m speaking about the golden shadow - the brilliance, confidence, creativity, erotic power, or leadership we’ve disowned in ourselves and projected onto mentors, lovers, teachers, or public figures, and how easy it becomes to feel worthy simply by being near them instead of allowing ourselves to become that big.
