Major dates at the US Open and the Masters now await the Malone man in 2023 after he ended a run of near-misses in fine style against his Irish international teammate. There was also plenty to cover on the pro scene, from Robert MacIntyre’s Italian job to Danny Willett’s horror three-putt to where a Cam Smith win in Chicago stands in golf’s pecking order.
