 He had to wait until Monday morning to make it official but Rory McIlroy is now a two-time PLAYERS champion. 

The Irishman’s extra holes win over JJ Spaun at TPC Sawgrass makes him the first European to win the PGA Tour’s flagship event on multiple occasions, moves him ahead of Phil Mickelson on the PGA Tour Career Money List, and marks the first time that he's won twice on US soil in a calendar year prior to The Masters.  

Now, all eyes are on Augusta National next month... is this finally going to be McIlroy’s moment?
