A runner’s greatest secret weapon is his or her mind. A mind that is too distracted can cause you to lose focus on your pace, while a mind that is too focused on the run can lead to stress, awareness of the pain, and a desire to slow down. Most of the time, your mind should be occupied by thoughts that take your mind off of the difficulty while not causing you to lose focus of your run. In this episode, Mason and Scott detail some of the ways you can occupy your own mind while running, including listening to music or podcasts, repeating a mantra, or having a conversation during easier runs.
