Author Damon Young, whose memoir “What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Blacker” was nominated for a NAACP Image award, joins Jemele to discuss the success of his book, and the origin story behind him starting the site Very Smart Brothas. Young also gets candid about the financial pressures that black men face, including how he handled being evicted and not having a driver’s license until late in adulthood.
