Hashem doesn't look the other way. The Mesilas Yesharim closes Perek Dalet with a stark declaration: if Hashem ignored aveiros, there would be no justice in the world. We see evil people seemingly getting away with terrible things and wonder where the justice is. But Hashem runs the world with perfect din—no one escapes, ever. Human courts fail, governments won't act, but Hashem's justice is absolute. The question isn't whether the wicked will face consequences; it's whether you'll face yours.

Teshuva is a prison break, and you're standing at the open door. The Sha'arei Teshuva describes someone who has the chance to escape and doesn't take it—they're in a far worse state than those who never had the option. Hashem gives time, He's merciful, but in the end He collects. Can you open your eyes and see reality before it's too late? Pick your level—desire to serve Hashem purely, hunger for Olam Haba, or just fear of punishment in this world—and start there. Any reason is better than staying stuck. Will you take advantage of the escape route while it's open?
