Ep 86: Janie Killips Nominates Sufjan Stevens' "Illinois"
It's safe to say that this week we fell in love again (all things go, all things go) with the low-fidelity lushness of Sufjan Stevens' Illinois album. All thanks to one of our favorite multi-hyphenate artists and Wishbone lovers - Janie Killips! Janie defines "folk music" for us and assures us that banjos are not a prerequisite (but they sure do help). And they graciously put up with Grandpa Michael's ancient pop culture references. It's exactly the conversation we'd hoped to have about an album that already meant a lot to us.
FYI: we recorded and uploaded this episode long before Election Day, so Tyler really is communicating from the past here. Hopefully everyone's doing okay after last week.
