Siege Synchronicities

Ep. 89: The Hidden Trap That Can Be LETHAL To Your Success...

Do you know what really grinds my gears?

Quick story…

So the other day I’m playing a round of Rainbow Six Siege.

It’s something I like to do to reward myself after completing the most important tasks of the day.

I like to keep 3 hobbies…

This is the one that keeps me creative.  I often have my biggest breakthroughs in my life and business when I take a few minutes to unwind from it all.

Now as you know, it’s important to schedule in some intentional fun as a business owner.

You can use your hobby to draw out latent creativity as well.

In the world of online games though, you need to stand guard at the gateway to your brain...your input.

Normally, I go straight for the mute button when I’m not in a squad with people I know.

However, on this day…

I decided to give the internet a chance. BIG MISTAKE.

I was not having the most spectacular performance.  You get awful rusty when you don’t play for hours at a time anymore.

Anyway...it was the last round and the seconds were ticking down.

My teammate got dropped and the rest were dead.

No callouts were made.

No useful information.

So I round the corner, checked the angles, and shot high…

He was laying down, and I got creamed and lost us the round.

All of a sudden, those dead silent teammates spoke up.

They said, “good job you f*ckin idiot”.

“Way to blow it.”

“That’s why you check your corners” (I did...I just missed)

Now, let me ask you a question.

Does that sort of behavior encourage teamwork or the best results?

Of course not.

Bunch of sad, miserable f*ckers if you ask me...

Now obviously if you’re reading this, you’re not one of those micromanaging, backseat driving, captain hind-sighted teammates.

But this is what you should pick up on this.

Online or offline those people exist.  They are not your team.

Running an online business is just like playing an online game.

The only people you should listen to are your closest inner circle and people that pay you for your advice.

It grinds my gears that most people don’t know, have forgotten, or never knew how to be a good teammate.

Gone are the days of, “pick your head up, you’ll get em next time”.

My challenge to you today is to be a good teammate and pick someone up.

Stand guard at the gateway of your mind.

Lastly, understand that you become your environment.

If someone is not on your team...hit that mute button and delete them from your reality.
