Every once in a while, someone is born with freak flexibility that can’t be explained.
Today, we’re going to take a deep dive into the pro’s and cons of extreme flexibility in combat sports and what that means for you and your performance.
If you are someone who was born with freak flexibility or if you are someone who has developed it through rigorous stretching, you’ll find out what to do to ensure your joints stay protected.
If you are someone who is the exact opposite, you’ll find out how you can deal with these “freaks” and develop the type of flexibility it takes to pull off techniques more efficiently with a higher finish rate.

What wolf will you feed?
You may be wondering a little about how I came to be here with you today. I came here to talk to you about the war with your toughest opponent.
Yourself. The Proverbial Mirror Match from Mortal Kombat.
Back when I was competing, I went by Marty “The Werewolf” White. “The Werewolf” was a character I created, because I felt I had to become a monster to fight someone. I never really wanted to hurt anyone. I only wanted to prove to myself that I had “it” in me.
I wanted to get bloody more than I wanted to make my opponent bloody. I wanted to prove I could go the distance despite all my fears.
Fear of gassing out.
Fear of getting my ass kicked in front of friends and family.
Fear of getting teeth knocked out or something worse...
Why "Embracing The Grind" Is Taking Years Off Your Career
Here's new performance enhancement information for every banged up combat sports athlete who wants to efficiently train your body for maximum performance so you can compete at the highest levels without having to feel like you're 30 years older than you are.
So here's where we are right now...
I’m sure you’ve been brought up in the “Embrace The Grind” culture that has spilled over from wrestling. You have no problem red-lining your body. Hard work is a pre-requisite. If you weren’t hustling, I’d say something was wrong with you, but the extremes have started to backfire.
You’ve heard the phrase “No pain, no gain”. The fitness industry has literally brainwashed you into believing that if your training isn’t painful, then you aren’t gaining any ground.
You can’t stand going to a physical therapist just to get overcharged just for them to tell you to ice it and give you a few small exercises that are merely just a piece of the puzzle.
You feel like you’re being taken by chiropractors, and you know the relief you get is only temporary.
Meathead personal trainers often think an olympic style strength training program is the answer to all life’s problems and trying to train that way with your combat sports training is a death wish.
Let’s not even get into the discussion of cheating with TRT and the fallout that it causes...
This can lead you into a vicious cycle of injury, brain fog, and chronic pain.
So what is the answer? Listen to this episode of MMA Chat with Marty to find out!
