This week on TOGT11, we give a warm welcome to Tyler’s buddy and former classmate, a mensch, a real “wife guy” - ladies and germs we give you Joseph Ruiz!
And he of the eclectic tastes brought us an album and artist *neither* of us had ever heard of before. You know we LIVE for that. Have you heard of Austin-based outlaw-esque, Americana-ish singer-songwriter David Ramirez and his 2015 album “Fables”? Well if you haven’t then get the heck in here and listen to just what it did to our guy Joe. His case for the perfection of “Fables” traces his own journey growing up in Houston, trying on many different hats (including bible college), and finding himself in a spiritual place where he can really embrace the unknown and enjoy the dang ride. That’s a philosophy we here at This One Goes to 11 can get behind.
We’re big Joe Ruiz fans, you better believe that. But will his case have the necessary juice to earn “Fables” a place in the TOGT11 pantheon? Smash that play button to find out.
Joe’s also a big tabletop roleplaying game guy and runs games around Chicago as part of Wizard Staffing Co! Here’s their Instagram page. Give them a follow, if you’re interested in rolling some dice. No experience necessary!
This episode also comes as a playlist on our YouTube channel.
Theme music composed by Damien Figueras.
