2. From a cinematic perspective, what did you enjoy about the film? What worked for you? What didn’t?

3. In our film the protagonist is burdened and beat down, and his friend has had a break from reality. One is lost and disillusioned, the other repentant and in pursuit of penance. In what ways does this reflect the stories we tell ourselves and share as a society?

4. In our lectionary passage Jesus tells a parable, a fig tree has failed to bear fruit, but the field-hand is asking for one last chance. How many (figurative) fig trees are presented in this film, and how many chances do they have left?
