Welp. That one sucked. Losing to ANY team when you score three TD's and allow NONE is always a tough pill, but especially against the damn falcons. With that loss, of course, has come renewed ire against both DA and Derek Carr, but...is that really warranted or is it really the issue at this point? We had absolutely no issue driving the #FireDennisAllen train last season, but can you really put the past two losses squarely on poor coaching or poor play from Derek Carr? The team's quality of play certainly paints a much different picture than what we saw out of last year's squad. Our opinion is that the mistakes in this game, at least, were so egregious (Shaheed's muffed punt, Adebo's PI) or "flukey" (Carr's pass dropping perfectly into a LB's hands), that you can't start sounding the "FIRE THE COACH" or "BENCH THE QB" alarms at this point. We get into that issue and a whole lot more, including an overall look at how this loss and the upcoming schedule sets the Saints up - or makes it more difficult - to end that playoff drought.
