James has been spearheading his philosophy on police work with Crisis Intervention Training. From his time as a housing cop, straight through to hostage negotiation, James employs his 3 E’s: ego deflation, empathy, and ethics, to diffuse and control any situation so that everyone involved comes out unharmed. So much from episode 72! Transformational fitness coach and trainer of the stars, Naqam Washington, joins Phoenix in the Everlast podcast studio along with Hollywood stuntman, Victor Plajas. Naqam Washington has done it all, from being the traveling trainer for the New York Knicks, the fitness coach of Puff Combs, and is currently the trainer for Netflix Marvel series, Daredevil. His passion outside of training his star clients (which also includes Penny Hardaway, Patrick Ewing, and Gary Sheffield) are Muay thai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and nerding out on comic books.  Not a fitness buff? Susan has been in the combat sports industry for over 20 years, having competed in Muay Thai and boxing both as an amateur and professional with over 25 fights. Susan shares how she went from bartending and partying to kicking and coaching. She shares her experiences at her professional fights, wins and losses that have made her a better coach.  As a cut person, she describes how she wraps hands for her fighters, and her style in the corner. Susan has been a long-standing second and chief second in Phil Nurse & the FDNY Bravest Boxing's fight camps and corners. Reno is among the few women in combat sports, certified as a second as well as a cut-person in the business of combat sports. From the gym floor to the locker room to the 60 second rest between rounds, there is never a shortage of compassion, drama, empathy, and comedy since 2002.
