Heroin Chic: The 90s Trend That Shouldn’t Come Back.
We are not sacrificing our health for a trend. Period, full stop. Recently there was a New York Post article claiming: “Bye bye booty, Heroin Chic is Back.” Since its release it’s been targeting and marketed to fashion trends to bring back emaciated features, dark under eye circles, and very pale skin.
People had some pretty strong feelings about the article, understandably. As women we have been told one too many times that our happiness & value lies in what we look like. Whether it be “Slim Thicc” or “Heroin Chic”, the beauty industry thrives off of our inability to love ourselves. Kelsea and Rachael are here to say no, not now, not ever, is what we look like the thing that determines our value in this world. Our body size has absolutely no correlation to the wonderful qualities that we bring to the table. We will fight this because we owe it to our 15 year old selves and the girls going forward to have a clear path of self love.
