Welcome to the pod, this week I am joined by Marcus Gores who just got done doing an amazing stone sheep hunt. Marcus is a hunting fanatic through and through we talk about his journey and his desire to travel to new places experiencing hunts and the adventure it leads them on. In this podcast Marcus shares his adventures of his two brutal sheep hunts. We talk about his wife getting into hunting and how that has changed his perspective, and we talk about the reality of burnout.

Marcus has been on some crazy hunts and one would think he has spent a small fortune. For me it was cool to hear that he is a general contractor who works hard and plays hard. Marcus also has not only plays his cards very well when getting tags though raffles but he also talks about putting in some serious work on the phones to capitalize on other opportunities that most don’t or just won’t. A great conversation, and I hope you all enjoy.

This podcast brought to you by the awesome folks at Maven Built Optics. Maven is such a cool company and a great group of people. I also love that they are a small Wyoming company making big waves. Maven is a direct to consumer optics company which means they don’t have huge mark ups. One of the most common questions you guys the listeners ask me is to compare mavens to something at an equal price point. I can’t say it enough Maven blows everything in a similar price point out of the water. Stop comparing products based on price. This is why I say Maven is the best bang for your buck by far and away, it’s not even close. Good glass is a must have. From their rifle scopes to binoculars, and spotters I highly recommend their optics. They also have a custom optics builder which is really cool. You can jump on their website MavenBuilt.com and design your optics with custom patterns or custom colors the options are pretty endless. Check them out at Mavenbuilt.com and use the “TRO-GIFT” code to get a special bonus gift with your purchase.

Todays podcast is brought to you by On X Maps, and On X has some really cool features that just launched. On X is now adding a bunch of forestry layers that are going to be a game changer. With map layers for deciduous vs coniferous layers you can now e-scout where those two intersect. With Aspen layer you can see where the younger aspen patches are. This along with a bunch of new layers that On X maps is adding makes upgrading your on X to Elite a now brainer. Upgrade your account and upgrade your e-scouting game with On X Maps. Use Code TRO to save 20%.
