On April 19, 2016, Bryan Stevenson, the author of Just Mercy, spoke at Laxson
Auditorium on the California State University, Chico campus. Just
Mercy is the book in common for Chico State and Butte College, as
well as the community at large.
This presesentation was simulcast to Redding and Grass Valley,
as well as being live-streamed the next day from Butte College Main
Campus.
I am not an affiliate of Bryan Stevenson or his book, Just
Mercy, but I am happy to share his story of terrific leadership and
recommend his book.
From the program notes: "Bryan Stevenson is the founder and
Executive Director of the Equal Justice Initiative and one of the
most acclaimed and respected lawyers in the nation. His memoir,
Just Mercy, is the story of a young lawyer fighting on the front
lines of a country in thrall to extreme punishments and careless
justice. It is an inspiring story of unbreakable humanity in the
most desperate circumstances, and a powerful indictment of our
broken justice system and the twisted values that allow it to
continue."
The closing music for this podcast is from the MTV Unplugged
version of Baby Face's, "Change the World".
My focus is training front line employees, supervisors, and
managers so they can reach their highest potential in their
careers. I also taught college level Business Communication and
Employee Readiness courses for 15 years. Employees and students
tell me my courses change their lives for the better, and my
evaluations consistently rate me as an engaged and motivational
speaker. I decided to produce a podcast in the effort to support a
broader audience of people in higher levels of job satisfaction and
productivity, as well as encourage people to find jobs for which
they are a good fit.
