In this episode you get to hear my training partner, Shawn

Volland, explain the 5 Key Principles for meeting human needs
during a constructive coaching discussion. Providing effective
development feedback for front line employees requires skill.

Shawn and I are both certified trainers for Development

Dimensions International. The 5 Key Principles are part of their
High Impact Feedback and Listening training. 

This week focus on:

1. Taking good care of coworker self-esteem.

2. Make the emotional effort to demonstrate understanding of

coworker challenges. 

3. Encourage involvement by asking open-ended questions to spur

ideas. 

4. Appropriate sharing of thoughts and feelings to build trust

with coworkers. 

5. Provide support without removing responsibility - be there

for people without doing their jobs for them. 

My focus is training front line employees, supervisors, and

managers so they can reach their highest potential in their
careers. I also taught college level Business Communication and
Employee Readiness courses for 15 years. Employees and students
tell me my courses change their lives for the better, and my
evaluations consistently rate me as an engaged and motivational
speaker. I decided to produce a podcast in the effort to support a
broader audience of people in higher levels of job satisfaction and
productivity, as well as encourage people to find jobs for which
they are a good fit.
