Today we sit down with three men in different parts of their life journey to talk about masculinity, all things male and what it is to them to be a man in today’s world.  We touch on toxic masculinity, alcohol, sex, relationships, and mental health. We discuss how masculinity turns from healthy to toxic from setting unattainable standards regarding social respect, physical strength, and even sexual potency. When boys and men are unable to achieve these standards, feelings of insecurity and anxiety might push them to use force to feel dominant and in control.  Does culture define masculinity in the household, are there similarities or differences between masculinity in cultural upbringing and do we all define being a man the same? We talk about where, when, and how you have learned to be a man or how you see men in your lives. What defines you or the men in your life? Let’s start this talk with this long form conversation with what we think are the answers to some of these questions.
