Motivating others starts with motivating yourself. Are you clear about how your work contributes to the organization's mission? When you understand how what you do support the strategic plan, you can pass that understanding down to your team and individuals who may need additional guidance in this area. 

Supervisor are expected to provide interpersonal support for their teams, but they often do not receive the interpersonal support they need from their managers. Without this support in place, the third component - Individual Value - can be diminished.
