This week we welcome Laurie Brown to Middle Fingers Up @lauriemacbrown, Lauriemacbrownphotography.com to continue our MFU Body Image Campaign. Laurie has been taking photos for over 18 years and she would say at least 10 of those would count as her profession. In this episode we explore positive body image and the idea of “existing within photos”. We dive into how easily we can delete photos now and in turn delete the existence of us in the moment. We talk about our overused devices wiping out this existence when we don’t like our smile, a roll, or a bad shadow. We explore how some people simply don’t want to see the truth that photos are showing them, how they don’t allow themselves to exist in the moment and how they can possibly change this internal script. We also talk about mothers, loopholes, past regrets, altering, editing, and photographic anxiety. Come sit with us and listen to Laurie share why Boudoir photos are her favorite to shoot and her passion of watching woman bring their inner super villain out during these photoshoots. Some may even say a boudoir shoot is like a body image therapy session…
