EP165 Empowerment Means Having Good Boundaries

Listen Later

Welcome to Episode 165 where we talk about a foundational piece to empowerment: having healthy boundaries with ourselves and with others.

In this episode we focus on how being empowered means understanding and practicing setting limits, as well as being able to set them with ourselves. We explore the different facets of boundary setting, where we first learn to have them (or not), and ways they are either respected or when and how they are violated. We also get into a big part of boundary work and that is healthy detachment, where we learn how to let go of control. Being empowered also means owning your gifts and being open to taking healthy risks and letting go of the outcomes.

Key Elements:

  • Identify what healthy boundaries look like, and how to tell where yours are.
  • Discuss what it feels like when you experience various boundary violations.
  • Process how important loving detachment is to boundary work.

because you set boundaries,

it's just more evidence

the boundary is needed."
