The Sleep Science Pod

Ep2. What Do We Currently Know About Sleep?

Listen Later

This episode explores the fundamentals of what sleep is and why we might need it. Caroline presents an overview of body and brain states of sleep and the different ways that we can measure – and thus make sense of – the component stages of sleep, ranging from lab-based EEG to phone apps and subjective assessments.

Guest Dr. Simon Durrant, Co-Director of the Lincoln Sleep Research Centre and Director of the Sleep and Cognition lab, both at the University of Lincoln, discusses some common sleep myths and tells us about his work with university students.
