Avoid (v.) 避免
keep away from or stop oneself from doing (something).
You really should avoid that place, they have a huge dog who doesn’t let people in.
Prevent (v.) 預防
keep (something) from happening.
In order to prevent people from trespassing, the owners built a large fence and got a loud dog.
Prohibit (v.) 禁止
formally forbid (something) by law, rule, or other authority.
Trespassers are prohibited from entering the property. There is a big dog to stop anyone who ignores this rule.
