シンガポールに来てから、コンサートに行くようになりました。Since coming to Singapore, I’ve started going to concerts.

それはどうしてか。

Why is that?

シンガポールでは、日本よりチケットが取りやすいからです。

Because in Singapore, it’s easier to get tickets than in Japan.

日本では、YOASOBIやAdo、Mrs. GREEN APPLEなどの人気な人のチケットは、なかなか取れないそうです。

In Japan, tickets for popular artists like YOASOBI, Ado, and Mrs. GREEN APPLE are very hard to get.

もちろん、シンガポールも簡単に取れるわけではありません。

Of course, it’s not easy to get tickets in Singapore either.

それでも、なぜシンガポールの方が日本より取りやすいのでしょうか。

Still, why is it easier in Singapore than in Japan?

それは、チケットを買うシステムが違うからです。

Because the system for buying tickets is different.

まず、日本の話からしましょう。

Let me start with Japan.

日本では、ファンクラブに入っている人が、先に申し込めることが多いです。

In Japan, people in fan clubs can often apply first.

ファンクラブに入るには、お金がかかります。

You need to pay money to join a fan club.

だから、お金を払ったファンの人の方が、チケットを取りやすいです。

So people who pay have a better chance to get tickets.

つまり、ファンクラブに入っていないと、チケットはほとんど取れないということです。

In other words, if you’re not in the fan club, it’s very hard to get tickets.

一方で、シンガポールは違います。

On the other hand, Singapore is different.

チケットが売られる時間になると、サイトにアクセスします。

When tickets go on sale, you go to the website.

そこで、順番を待つための番号がもらえます。

Then you get a number to wait in line.

その番号はランダムです。

That number is random.

番号が小さいと、早くチケットのページに入れます。

If your number is small, you can enter early.

でも、番号が大きいと、遅くなります。

But if your number is big, you have to wait longer.

その間に、チケットがなくなることもあります。

During that time, tickets can sell out.

ここで大事なのは、誰でも同じルールだということです。

What’s important is that everyone follows the same rule.

ファンクラブに入っていても、入っていなくても、同じです。

It doesn’t matter if you are in a fan club or not.

大ファンの人も、ちょっと興味がある人も、同じスタートです。

Big fans and casual fans start from the same point.

そういう意味では、平等だなと思います。

In that sense, I feel it’s fair.

運がよければ、誰でもチケットを買うことができます。

If you’re lucky, anyone can get tickets.

では、大ファンの人はどう感じるでしょうか。

But how do big fans feel?

長い間応援している人は、ファンクラブにお金を払っているのに、運がないだけでチケットが買えないのは、納得できないかもしれません。

People who have supported for a long time may feel it’s unfair if they can’t get tickets just because of luck.

私のように、ちょっと行ってみたい人でもチケットが買えるのは、平等じゃないと思う人もいるかもしれません。

Some people may feel it’s not fair that someone like me, who is just curious, can get a ticket.

確かに、そうかもしれませんね。

That may be true.

どちらのシステムがいいのかは、人の考え方によって変わると思います。
