Did you know that in the 18th century, we used to put a hinged iron framework around a woman's head which gaged her into submission and silence? It was used to publicly humiliate her and to teach other women to keep their mouth shut. Is this hatred, fear, ignorance?  How could a civilization be so cruel and do you feel better knowing we don't do it any longer? Don't be too comfortable, we may not be using a Scold's Bridle today, but we use rape, domestic violence, and other means of torture - in 2021 to keep women quiet.
