The Cates family moved to Mont Vernon to experience life in a small town. It was safe, rural, a picture perfect town. Until the early morning of October 4, 2009 when Kim and Jaimie Cates were brutally attacked by four intruders who broke into their home to rob and kill. This case stayed with me from the moment I heard what happened to them that day. Mont Vernon is a tiny New Hampshire town, one that I know well from time there.
