Welcome to Episode 3 of The Freedom Seekers Podcast!
In this episode, I am going to be chatting about the power of celebrating your small wins. The big project in our lives and businesses is us, ourselves. We will dictate the outcomes of our lives! And there’s a certain amount of growth and expansion necessary, to advance yourself to the next level in life and business. Where you’re at in life right now is relative to how much you’ve grown yourself and your mindset. Ultimately if you were thinking like a person who runs a 6-7 figure business, lives a freedom lifestyle, etc...you’d already be earning that amount of money and would be living your dream lifestyle. So if you’re not quite there yet, you have some more growing to do first.
In life, we get to decide what we define as a win. For example, financial results are just one way to measure a win. In the beginning of any journey (business, fitness, etc), it’s imperative to focus on the process first, not the results or outcome you want to achieve. The law of delayed returns states that your life today is the result of your past thoughts, actions and habits. If you’re unhappy today, you really should be looking at the last 6 months, 12 months, 2 years. Because all the little tiny decisions you made in your recent past, have accumulated and got you to where you are today.
If making these small bad decisions compounding over time is what it took to get you to the unhappy place you're in now, the same is also true for the other way around. To get you to the point where you’re free & living your dreams is also going to be this little daily process of forming better habits, making better decisions and taking action. These good decisions will accumulate over time to help you reach the happy, fulfilled, wealthy version of yourself.
To get into the momentum of celebrating small wins and into the mentality of winning, you need to shift your perspective on what actually is a win. This can be done simply by shifting your day, by doing the little things. For example, reading 2 pages of a book is a win, making your bed is a win, doing a post on social media is a win, drinking 2L of water in a day is a win…When you focus on these small wins, you can stack them all together and celebrate your progress.
When you’re so focused on the outcome or result you’re wanting to achieve, if you don’t achieve it fast enough, you feel like you’re losing not winning. But if you shift your perspective and focus on completing the daily tasks within your process, you’ll feel like you’re winning and ultimately you are making progress towards the results you're wanting.
In the beginning stages of building a business, or even if you’re starting a new fitness journey or any new venture, you have to set yourself up to win frequently and focus on the small wins. As you get a little more advanced, the little wins you used to celebrate have become routine and second nature. This is when you can really start shooting to hit some big financial goals or results based outcomes. Only start focusing on this once you’ve got your daily process and good habits totally dialed in!
I hope this episode helps you reposition your priorities and shift your perspective on what you need to do to create the feelings of success in your life, by getting yourself into positive momentum, through setting up a good process, celebrating your small wins and then eventually shooting for specific targets & outcomes!
