Hey there, it's me, Kiran, and I couldn't be more excited to share this special episode  with you.   For all of you in relationships, married, or single there's a bit in here for everyone.  And let me tell you, this one is extra special because it was a request straight from you, our incredible listeners!

Now, you probably  already know that I'm a South Asian woman, but what you might not know is that my partner in life, my husband, is a white guy.  In this episode, it's just the two of us sitting down to have a candid conversation about our interracial marriage.

As the host of a mental health podcast, I have worked on fostering open conversations and breaking down societal stigmas. But this time, it's personal. We get into our own relationship, sharing the challenges we've faced and the lessons we've learned along the way.

It all started back in college when we met in our early 20s. Who would've known that we'd grow together and be sitting here with you today, in our 40s, reflecting on our incredible journey? We talk about the obstacles we encountered, the stereotypes we've had to confront, and the incredible strength it takes to stand tall amidst adversity.

But it's not just about the challenges. We also celebrate the beauty of merging our cultures together. We share stories of how we've brought our customs into our relationship, creating a unique blend that honors both of our backgrounds.

Now, let me not sugarcoat it: it hasn't always been easy. We've had tough conversations about privilege, unconscious biases, and the importance of understanding one another on a deeper level. But through it all, we've learned the power of honest communication and the strength that comes from tackling these issues together.

And here's the best part: all of this was inspired by you, our incredible listeners. You wanted to hear our story, and we're honored to share it with you.
