I’ve never lived in a place so closed off to the many ways of thinking and living that are easily accepted in other places where I’ve lived. We have some lovely co-workers and friends, but I haven’t met my tribe yet. I know they’re out there, hiding in plain site waiting for an invite, and I’m pretty sure I’m just gonna have to take initiative. I’m fine with taking the initiative, but I’d really like to hear your thoughts on how I can find my tribe without completely ostracizing me and my husband. We still have to attend functions and events and regularly interact with the conservative old guard.
