Tonia & Vanessa packed a lot of goodies into episode 48 of the Quality Coffee Podcast including gems like the spoon theory and how others offer us their spoons in compassionate ways when they have enough to share, helpful and insightful tools from the great Brené Brown amongst some anecdotal stories from our own lives.
We break down the realizations we come to in our midlife era as Elder Millennial women leading us to check in every morning with ourselves before our feet even hit the floor. We can’t love openly and effortlessly when we are pouring from an empty cup, which requires a lot of awareness of the capacity you have on any given day. Are you assessing your capacity? How can you better prepare yourself for the day if you do know how many spoons you have to spend? And when you have more than you need do you share them with ease?
So much about being in our midlife era is about setting ourselves up for success. Elder Millennial women are doing everything we can to protect our peace and this is certainly an important part of the puzzle. Self-love. See-Compassion. Self-efficiency. Self-respect.
