On today's podcast episode I had the opportunity to chat with Maya Markowski, owner of Equest Dressage. Maya is a Canadian Dressage trainer, competitor and coach based outside of Guelph, ON. We covered so many topics I know that you are interested in - such as developing young horses and discussed the nuances around how to learn and teach "feeling". Dressage is such a technical discipline which is why Maya and many others believe that it can be helpful for all horses to learn. We also spoke about how she appreciates being able to have riders feel the way movements and well-trained horses are undersaddle, and some of the differences between how riding is taught differently in Europe versus North America. I asked her all about her business, current mounts, plans for the future and how she handles the inevitable obstacles and setbacks of being in the industry. Maya had some great advice for anyone interested in learning about the discipline of dressage and I can't wait for you to hear this episode!
