Welcome back to the Nashville Women's Health Podcast! This week's episode is the first in a 3-part series on Endometriosis. Today, Rachel is going to discuss her diagnosis and the journey she went through before she got an accurate diagnosis. She also talks about the different treatment options available, as well as the recovery process.
Rachel's main symptoms started in 2017 and included headaches, fatigue, and muscle aches that resembled the flu. They visited numerous specialists and took many tests, but none could diagnose the issue. They were prescribed birth control, antidepressants, anxiety medication, and pain medication, but none of them were effective. This highlights the need for more awareness about endometriosis and better medical care for those suffering from it.
