Hello there and welcome to Hartelines.
For the very first episode back in a while, and to start off this season, we went on a deep dive into the time old tradition of coopering with Killian O'Mahony, Cooper from Midleton Distillery, Co. Cork.
Killian talked about everything from growing up in Blarney, his love of woodwork and working with his hands, to becoming the first Cooper hired in Midleton in over 40 years.
From there, to learn his trade he traveled to Scotland, Spain, America and came back home to Cork.
Killian also talked about different types of wood , barrel making, quality control, mentorship, a coopers tools, his love of the outdoors, along with his other passions in his life and so much more.
