If you are suffering today and you need a friend, this is Jesus’ response to you. He comes to you. He shows up in your moment of need. He comes and he empathizes, he weeps with you and shares your grief. As he grieves with you, he gets angry for you. He wants to assert his power, he wants to give you hope, and he wants to bring supernatural healing and resurrection life into your suffering. As we live in his Spirit and engage in the war between his Spirit and our sinful nature, that war that happens when His Spirit starts to move in and take over territory in our hearts and minds and souls - when we finally decide to stand up and participate and engage in this war, over time, we are regenerated, we are transformed. We are so consumed with the idolatry of the individual that we have found all kinds of ways to live out this worship of the self. Paul explains more –  “just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, 5 so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other.” But the implications of this will not be easy for us individual addicts.  God has given each of us faith, but that faith can’t be fulfilled on its own. This is the day that we remember and celebrate the most glorious, victorious, stupendous, drop down on your knees, lift your hands, worship-worthy, praise-worthy, the reality of all realities: Jesus Christ has risen from the dead! Jesus Christ is completely alive!
