Sermon #1 of the Epiphany Series from Dr. Chris George.
Epiphany is a strange season that many simply ignore. Overshadowed by the popular seasonal bookends of the Christmas celebration and Lent contemplation, Epiphany gets lost in the liturgies and the lives of many Christians.
But, Epiphany is more than merely a banal bridge between more popular seasonal destinations. It is an essential journey that helps us to understand what has taken place at Christmas and prepares us for what will take place on Easter.
Epiphany connects the most important and universal elements of the human experience - birth and death. It begins soon after the Nativity and ends with the road to the cross.
Epiphany is the blessed and beautiful, dangerous and daring, mundane and miraculous in-between time where life happens.
Chris George challenges us to rediscover this significant season and embrace the calling to live a different way in a series of six sermons originally preached during the Covid-19 pandemic at Smoke Rise Baptist Church in Tucker, Georgia.
These sermons are meant to instruct and inspire, to engage and encourage, and to point the reader toward timeless truths about this journey through life.
